Prince Live At Malahide Castle, Dublin, July 30, 2011 — Part 1

2011, August 5

My review of these — a great, unexpected opening number — from reading the on-line chatter none of the fans were expecting ‘Gold‘. Great surprise too that he did ‘Purple Rain‘ so early in the gig   — much suspicion expressed that he timed it because it was actually raining while he played it. Try this for Part 1.1

Hi Ciaran, really nice videos. thank u for sharing. Only one time I saw the complete video of Gold, and I was very touched. But I can’t find it. Do you have the complete video of Gold? Greetz. Marc

    • Hi Marc!
Thank you for your message and delighted you enjoyed them — especially after all this time.
I will have to root out the original footage and see how much of it I got.
Leave it with me, and if I have it or have more than in this montage, I will try to get it up and let you (and others who have asked!) know!
With this social isolation — time should not be an excuse!!!

Hi Ciarán, once again, amazing footage. Did you get to capture any more of purple rain?

    • Hi Diarmaid, thank you. Regarding Purple Rain, I really don’t know at this stage. I would have to root out the original unedited footage. I presume you heard the documentary on RTÉ Radio One over the weekend? Enthralling story of which I was completely unaware.

Thank you for sharing this. I saw this posted on YouTube and then it was gone. Sad face. I would love to see The full performance of Gold again. Where he says he has to check the choir and the sing the na na na na na na na naaaa naaaaaa naaaaa’s. He spins around and his reaction makes my heart jump.

    • Thank you for your message—apologies for the long delay replying I think your message ended up in my Spam folder and was swept away eventually—only saw it this evening when I logged into the site and saw it. Unfortunately, I don’t have any more substantial footage of Gold than what I posted. Glad you enjoyed—thank you for your support—tell your friends!

Hi, If possible do you have the full performance of Little Red Corvette. I absolutely love this performance and I am so sad I never got to see Prince in concert. If you do have that one song please may I purchase a copy from you, as I can not find it anywhere, thank you.

I love this footage! I wish I was able to see a show this close, but it was tough with his stadium shows here in the States. So sad there won’t be any more now.

    • Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I agree totally—it saddens me too that no one will even again get to experience Him live again. We are lucky that we did when we could.

Hello Ciaran, do you have the complete footage of Prince performing “Gold” the first song of part 1? I would love to see that footage from beginning to end! Thanks anyway

Ciaran, do u have the whole concert on video?

    • Hi Angela,

I am glad you enjoyed them – many thanks for your messages. Firstly,
unfortunately, I don’t have the whole concert on video at all – I was too
busy dancing, singing and enjoying it to have been able to do that! All of
the footage I have has been compiled into the videos on my blog – so that is the lot I’m afraid!

Hi, thanks for keeping these vids up. I am trying to watch them – have tried with firefox and with internet explorer but when I click on the video I just get an empty white box with no video. Help! Is there more here than in the Parts 1, 2 and 3 you posted on YouTube?
